I just used a hair dryer to heat the trim up, peeled it off, scraped off any of the foam backing that didn't come off with the trim, and followed up with some goo gone where needed. Easy as pie, and now my interior looks 90% less eurotrashy. Much thanks for the advice!

Ah, I saw that and was very confused. On my phone it looks like you have a German 4 speed... which would be a first for me in modern cars ;)

Me neither :p Based on the edges of the cupholder cover, I figured he put it on there because the old trim was thrashed or something. Alas, no, he was just a tasteless dumbass. Hopefully it'll look even better once I've actually properly cleaned the interior, too.

Well, here's hoping he had better judgement when it comes to treating the mechanical bits of the car O.K. – but then you've probably checked that out earlier, right? :p

Honestly, I couldn't tell you, since they came with the car. Mine have a red "GTI" logo on the outer edge, but I'm sure you could find them without. They've saved my carpets a couple time when I've forgotten about having a drink in the cupholders whilst cornering. I'll try and remember to check the brand next time I'm out there.

It's pretty alright, overall. It had some glaring issues when we got it (Needed new control arm on front right, couple other things I can't remember) but overall it's sound and we got it at a really good price, so it all worked out.

Cool. The original carpet mat, at least on the driver's side, finally wore completely through. I imagine those are factory, and are expen$$$ive.
